Carlos A. D. Lentini

Physical Oceanographer

Biography

Mr. Lentini holds a Ph.D. degree in Physical Oceanography, Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science (RSMAS), University of Miami (2002), a M.Sc. in Physical Oceanography, Instituto Oceanográfico IOUSP (1997) and a B.Sc. in Oceanography, University of Rio Grande, FURG (1992).
He is now a faculty member of the Departamento de Física da Terra e do Meio Ambiente (FTMA), Instituto de Física of the Universidade Federal da Bahia (UFBA). For more info, see my CV_Lattes (portuguese)

Research Interests

Dr. Lentini's work involves the analysis of remote sensing and in-situ oceanographic data, along with the analysis of numerical model runs to help interpret the observational results. His interests include ocean circulation dynamics, mesoscale phenomena, western boundary currents, observation of ocean frontal zones, effects of climate variability on ocean circulation and its impact on marine ecosystems and populations. His ongoing research now is focused on the study of the upper ocean dynamics in the Tropical and Western-Southwestern Atlantic Ocean by means of remote sensing techniques, numerical model outputs and observational data.
